Are you starting to get in the mood for Christmas? I sure am. Now that the days are short and the nights are long, I can’t wait to see the sparkle of Christmas lights. I’m fired up and ready to start decorating as soon as Thanksgiving is over.
While looking through the holiday bins in my basement, I noticed this birdhouse. It had been sitting down there gathering dust for the past few years. The wheels in my brain started turning.
No birds ever used this birdhouse, so no bird-poop to clean up. A fresh coat of paint and tons of glitter. I used watered down Mod Podge with a 1 inch brush as the adhesive for the glitter.
I strung a small strand of fairy lights with 15 LEDs through it, and tied tiny gold ornaments on.
But the old bottle brush tree sealed it as Christmas decor. The only thing missing are some birds. A small red Cardinal would be perfect. Sometime when I’m out shopping I might run into one, or a cute little reindeer. Who knows, maybe this project will evolve over the years.
