Hi all. I recently modernized my large kitchen wall clock with a little paint. I’m not an artist (shucks), so I kept it simple.
Here is the before.
Do you have a collection of these half pints of paint from the hardware stores? I do. I love that they sell these nowadays. I use them on all kinds of little projects at a fraction of the cost that a whole gallon would cost. These are the little pots that I used on the clock.
First I put a couple of coats of Zinsser primer on it because the lettering was so dark. It dries very quickly.
Using painter’s tape, I was able to paint straight lines. I played with it until I came up with a look that I liked. I finished it off by painting the hands and metal opening with metallic acrylic paint.
Quite a difference.
