Hi all! This is my beading station. It’s where I do all of my beading and jewelry making. I mostly do bead weaving. I can spend hours and hours sitting at this desk.
I’m using an old tea cup shelving unit where I store a lot of my glass pearls, fire-polished gems, and Swarovski crystals. I like these stackable bead containers because I can easily see what I have available.
Jewelry making is a visual craft. Viewing all the colors, shapes and sizes helps my creativity.
These wood shelves I found years ago at a thrift store. I think it might have been a drawer insert at one time, but it fits my tubes of seed beads perfectly. And I love how I can see all the shades immediately.
My tools are handy nearby.
And jewelry findings. I must have every kind of finding they make. There’s nothing worse than working on a piece of jewelry and realizing that you don’t have the right size or color of a jump ring.
More findings inside the top desk drawer.
My sterlite drawers hold different kinds of beading thread, wire, clasps, pendants, and you name it. Everything is close and available.
I have 3 lights with daylight bulbs. The light on the right has a magnifier attached to it. My poor tired eyes need all the help they can get. This photo was taken near a bright sunny window, so you can see how much brighter these lights make the area illuminate. By having 3 lights, I don’t get shadows.
The shelf separating the sterlite drawers is just a piece of painted wood sitting on them. It provides me with additional storage for handy use.
I hope you got some ideas for setting up your own beading station. Have fun beading!
