I keep gift wrapping supplies in my foyer coat closet. It’s near the dining room table where I do all of my wrapping. It’s close by, handy and convenient. A couple of years ago I posted here about the gift wrap organization. But I kept having issues with things falling out, and the rolls flopping over. So I made some changes that have worked out great.
Since I have a hoard of gift bags, (doesn’t everyone?) I put them to use. One bag for wrapping and tissue paper, the other for Christmas tags and cookie bags.
Ribbon in one bag, bows in another, and so on. I even had room for boxed cards that I use frequently.
The other closet door is multi-purpose. It holds a shoe bag with gloves and vacuum parts in the top pockets. Gift wrap rolls in the bottom pockets.
I cut open the bottoms of the upper pockets so the rolls could slip through. Now there’s no more flopping around.
I truly believe that if your organization is convenient for you, it will stay organized. I don’t sort items in detail such as by color, size, etc. I don’t use a binder to keep track of my stuff. If it’s a major chore to put stuff away, it probably ‘ain’t gonna happen.’
If you have some great ideas, I’d love to hear from you!
