Hi all! Washing windows is not the most fun project to do, but looking out through crystal clear windows is awesome. The weather here cooled down beautifully this week. So I grabbed my bucket and supplies and got to it.
One of the items on my wish list when looking for a home, was lots of windows. I wanted to bring in all the gorgeous sunshine that I could. I honestly didn’t think about all the window cleaning involved. But I have a fast and easy way to wash them.
The majic ingredient is dishwasher rinse aid. Any brand will do. I filled my bucket with a gallon of very warm water, added 4 tablespoons of dishwashing liquid and 2 tablespoons of rinse aid. I used this window washing kit with an extender pole. No ladders for me!
All I did was rinse the windows with the hose, then wiped them down with the solution from my bucket.
Then I hosed them off. No drying with a squeegee or microfiber towel. I just let them air dry, and moved onto the next window.
And here’s a good example of an air dried window. You can’t even tell you’re looking through a window. No streaks or spots. It really is a window. See the plant on the window sill at the bottom right?
And that’s another chore off my autumn task list. Woohoo! 10 down, 12 to go.
