Hi all! If you’ve read or heard of ‘The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up’ by Marie Kondo, then you’ll understand why my closet is so empty. She instructs you to keep only what brings you joy. A LOT of clothing went out of this closet. At least on my side. My husband has not read the book, and I don’t think he will. I also don’t think any article of clothing sparks him joy. But he does know what he won’t wear anymore, and has gotten rid of useless items, too.
The cubicle shelving holds bins for sandals, paint clothing, and ‘special’ t-shirts. Special t-shirts are holiday or baseball Cardinal wear.
Now doesn’t that look just pitiful? I think it’s time for me to go shopping. Looking at this photo made me realize that all of my shoes are either white or very dark. Hmm, I gotta do something about that, too.
It’s really not that pitiful. My previous closet was tiny, so I’ve learned how to utilize every square inch.
I folded all of my sweaters just like Marie Konda recommends, and I love it. I can see it all at a glance. And they’re not being stretched by hanging on hangers. These drawers hold 2 rows of sweaters, so I was able to get a lot of them in.
We actually use the stool to sit when putting on and taking off our shoes. I moved my curio in. It holds all of my ‘fun’ jewelry. Now when I pick out an outfit, I have all of the accessories right there.
I added a bunch of tiny hooks along the inside top of the curio to hold all of my necklaces.
And last, the back of the door holds all of my scarves.
Everything is in this room when I’m pulling an outfit together to wear, and I love that convenience.
I hope I’ve been able to give you some ideas that will help you.
Well, I’m off to go shopping and add to my wardrobe. The heck with minimalism!
