Hi all! I took some time away from home maintenance projects to do some ‘prettying up’. One can only take so much grunge work. I get frustrated at how our dining room is so dark compared to the rest of the house. All of the wood doesn’t help but I refuse to paint any more furniture. I did have a white rug under the table, but somebody decided to use it as a pee pad when we weren’t home. I won’t name names, but she knows who she is. We took it outside, scrubbed it, let it dry, rolled it up and stored it away. Sigh!
My next attempt was to change the curtains. Here is a view of the previous tan ones I was using. I switched to simple white sheers. It made more of a difference than I thought it would.
I then decided to change the chair pads to a neutral gray, and some new pillow covers to coordinate with the china cabinet fabric backing.
Here is a previous photo. There was a lot of contrast (I really mean clash) going on. My feeble attempt at color. I never liked it, and never got used to it.
While dusting one day I dropped the wall candle holder and broke it. At the time I was not a happy camper. But this replacement works so much better.
Just some fall decor I had on hand.
I want to change the backs of the captain chairs to upholstery. It’s on my bucket list for next year. Does anyone else have a decorating bucket list?
Thanks for visiting me.
