Hi all! Here we are, working at the first fall task of the autumn season. This job is not for anyone with health issues, or the delicate. The kick back is powerful. We worked together, taking turns on Saturday for a few hours, and spent Sunday recuperating. It’s amazing how that spray of water takes all the mold and muck off so fast. I felt like Annie Oakley with my rifle attacking scum. It was war and I won.
Of course, I don’t have her strength and stamina, so the hubs had to take over quite often. I would really hate to have to go out with a bucket of water and wipe down all those fence rails.
We bought a Troy-Bilt XP 3100 PSI 2.7 GPM Gas Pressure Washer. I can’t endorse this product because it’s the only one we’ve used. We got it last fall when they were having a great sale. We don’t have any complaints.
Just look at how blackened and filthy those garden blocks are.
Annie Oakley, aka me, was on the job. Not only did I wear ear protection, but I had to wear eye protection. Tiny bits of rocks went flying while working on the concrete blocks. The shoes I’m wearing are slip-resistant athletic shoes. I wear them when gardening. They aren’t pretty but I don’t slip and fall like I used to. I might have gotten them in the men’s department. I don’t remember.
Can you see the difference where I sprayed?
Here are those same blocks the next day after it had time to dry out. What a difference! Looks like the garden wall was recently built, rather than some Greek ruins.
Our subdivision has strict rules about mold on the homes. There has been some serious fighting going on and legal action taken. Seriously? To calm the tempers, several of us have offered our power washers to neighbors who don’t have them. Houses have gotten cleaned and everyone is cooled down. It’s better to offer help, than bicker and insult.
Just look at the difference between the bottom steps and the top steps! Wow! We’ll pressure wash the top tier of the garden next spring. There are just too many plants blocking the top tier right now. We couldn’t move much on Sunday, so we just sat and gazed at how awesome it looked.
1 project off the autumn task list. 21 more to go. If you like more posts like this, please comment and subscribe.
