Hi all! This is the last of kitchen organizing for now. I just wanted to show you some of my favorite organized areas that I’ve found to be helpful for me. I moved things around a few times until I came up with this final arrangement. Organizing is an individual system, based on your real estate, belongings and comfort. I’m showing you mine in case you find a tip that might work for you.
I had a problem keeping track of these medium size utensils. I bought a couple of large bins from the Dollar Tree that fit perfectly on this roll out shelf. No more digging around searching for lost items.
Beneath that shelf we added a chrome roll out shelf. It made it so much easier to get to our blender. I love roll out shelves. Getting down on the floor to dig around is no fun.
In the cabinet next to it, I didn’t add a roll out shelf. I wanted somewhere to prop my cooling racks on their sides for easy access. I store my food processor next to it. I rarely use the food processor so I don’t need the convenience of a roll out shelf. In fact I haven’t used it since I made a carrot cake about 4 months ago.
My island has a very wide drawer. I have several containers in it to keep the items corralled. It isn’t always perfect, but I have a few habits like keeping tongs in the right most bin. You’ll notice the bins aren’t all matchy matchy. I used what I had first before making more bin purchases.
My utensil drawer is simple. No miscellaneous items shoved in all around getting lost. I keep my electric knife in the space next to the holder because it was a perfect fit. I rarely use it, but I know exactly where it is. Figure out what works best for you.
Now this photo is of one of those very narrow cabinets next to the range. I keep my cutting boards and cookie sheets in it. I was always having to search around for the cutting boards that were getting shoved to the back, which was a pain every time I needed one. I use my cutting boards all the time, so I had my hubby screw in a 3 tier metal organizer to end my frustration. It has been the perfect solution.
Here is the last cabinet I’m going to share with you. It is next to the stove and keeps my pots and pans. The reason I’m sharing this one is because of the basket that holds my small lids vertically. I used to have one of those lid racks but I didn’t like it. The lids got stuck in the slots and I had to fight it to get some of them out. Now I can grab a lid quickly when I need one. Fancy shmancy organizers aren’t always the best solutions.
It’s all about what works best for you. I hope I’ve been a help by sharing some of my organization.
