Do you want pretty patio lights without the enormous expense? Purchased patio lights typically come in 10 count to 25 count lights, meaning you have to purchase several. But if you’re hosting a summer evening party, which I am, they are so desired. Since the party itself is costing me a few dollars, I’ve been very careful in making my purchases and trying to think outside the box.
Of course I’m using Dollar Tree for many of my purchases. This is not a sponsored post for Dollar Tree. Just some common sense. While browsing the store I saw these pretty leis. For once, my mind clicked without having to run to Pinterest. I bought 2 of them.
When I got home I dug out a string of 100 count Christmas lights.
My plan was to use each double flower per light, but I was short about 20. Since I already had some faux flowers, I used a few to fill in the gaps.
I just used my little scissors to poke a hole in the center of the lei flowers, and push the light through.
Using your hot glue gun put a dab of glue on the back and between your double layers. You don’t want the wind flying them off all over the yard.
For the faux flowers, I just pulled them off the stem and removed the parts holding them together. Then I pushed them onto the light and added a dab of glue.
That’s all there is to it! Hang and enjoy!
Here’s a shot of them at night.
