Welcome! Spring is finally here, and Easter is on it’s way. I want to share a pattern I came up with to create a beaded cross stitched Easter egg. Beaded cross stitching is one of my favorite hobbies. I love the texture that the beads give to the projects. To learn how to cross stitch with beads see this post.
I used size 8 seed beads for this project. They are larger than your typical seed bead, and easier to work with.
You’ll also need embroidery floss to match your beads.
Here is the pattern I came up with. I changed the outline to gold since the aida cloth was white, and I just filled all the empty squares inside the egg with white.
Although you’ll follow the instructions from my previous post, there is a slight change when using larger seed beads. This is 14 count Aida cloth, so I had to skip a hole each time I passed my needle through it.
As you can see below, the thread doesn’t hardly show.
