Happy New Year! Already 2017. Can you believe it? I wonder how long it will take me to remember that it’s 2017 and not 2016. I packed all my Christmas decorations away yesterday. I had to force myself to do it, because it’s so pretty and warm looking. Many of the houses in our neighborhood had their Christmas lights either off or taken down last evening. It now looks dark and sleepy outside. But on the bright side – this is the best time of the year for crafting! No lawns to mow, no gardens to weed, no holiday functions to attend. Time to sew, bead, cross stitch, crochet, and all kinds of fun!
Now onto today’s post. I’m going to share a project that we did last fall. I wanted to put this antique steamer trunk by my living room window so my plants could get good lighting. The trunk holds all of my photos, family genealogy, etc. But I have a forced air vent under the window, and I didn’t want to block it. So I ordered these furniture legs from Amazon.
First we attached the plates to each corner.
Then drilled a hole in the center through the wood. And that wood was hard!
Then we just screwed the legs in. Easy.
I think it looks better on legs. You can see the vent cover under it. My plants are happy and we still have comfort. Oh, look who’s peeking! Little Miss Puffy couldn’t figure out what the heck mommy was doing on the floor.
And guess what I’m going to be doing the rest of today. Beading bracelets! It’s going to be a fun day for me, and when I get some done, I’ll be sure to share them with you.
