I know it’s getting awful close to Christmas to be making jewelry for the season, but these are easy and quick.
I found the teardrop shaped earring hoops at Hobby Lobby this month. In addition you’ll need beading thread, red shiny delica’s 11 aught, 10 4mm red bicones, 8 tiny bell charms, and earring wires.
I started by using the circular brick stitch to attach the foundation. In case you haven’t used this before, I’ll go over it.
1 – First tie your beading thread onto the hoop, with at least a double knot.
2 – Add 2 Delicas, then pass your needle through the hoop.
3 – Pass your needle through the 2nd Delica.
4 – Then pass it through the 1st Delica. Pull tight.
5 – Pass your needle back down the 2nd Delica. Pull tight.
6 – The 2 Delicas should now be sitting together.
7 – Add a Delica and pass your needle through the hoop.
8 – Pass your needle through the Delica you just added.
9 – Pull tight.
Repeat steps 7 through 9 until you have 6 Delicas on your hoop.
10 – Add a bicone and a bell charm to our needle. Pass your needle back through the bicone and up the Delica on the hoop next to the one you came out of. Pull tight.
11 – Pass your needle down the next Delica, add a bicone, a Delica, a bicone, a bell charm. Pass your needle back through the bicone, Delica, and bicone. Pass your needle up the Delica next on the hoop. Pull tight. Pass down the next Delica on the hoop.
Repeat step 10 for the final bicone and bell charm. Tie off your thread, and snip.
Repeat tying on the center Delica, bicone and charm. Attach to earring wires.
This is the last Christmas piece I’m making this year. Next month I’ll have a couple of new jewelry ideas to share.
