Styles come and go faster than I can keep up, but I do try to stay contemporary in my decorating. I’ve used this vintage orchard basket for years on my porch in the fall. And now it fits in the 21st century.
After painting the bottom half of the basket, I used acrylic paint and a quarter inch piece of dowel to apply dots randomly.
I clustered more dots along the bottom to get the confetti-look.
After it dried, I plopped in a bucket of mums. Now my vintage piece looks alive again.
After it was completed I kind of regretted not using a bolder paint color than the mint green. But after thinking about it, I suppose I wouldn’t want to over shadow the gorgeous mums once they fully bloom. And a bolder color might limit my choice of mum colors, too. So mint green it stays.
