My craft room is slowly, but surely, getting organized. I painted the walls a light greige, the curtains and furniture are white. All of the “stuff” is so colorful that I don’t have a color theme for the room. I guess all colors of the rainbow is the theme. It works for me. It took me several days to get the mounds of fabric organized, and I feel like a weight is off my shoulders. This corner doesn’t hold the large cuts of fabric (2-3 yards). Those are in larger bins in my closet.
Here’s a full view of the corner. The room is small so everything is packed in tight.
I have various sizes in these drawers. Large cuts in the bottom drawer, smaller pieces in the middle drawer, and rolls in the top drawer.
Since these pieces of fabric were small, I folded them into squares.
I used comic book backing boards to wrap my fabric around. You can find those boards on Amazon. I had to trim each board to fit the drawers.
Then fabric that was smaller still, I sorted by color and stored in these shoe box bins. The very tiniest pieces of fabric are in the gold hat box.
How about some views of the corner wall shelving unit?
The tall canisters are spaghetti containers. They work well on these narrow shelves for my buttons and pipe cleaners.
Just some cute vintage items.
The dress form is a good place to hang my tape measure. A future project will be making a fabric tool belt for it to hold more stuff.
The more I clean up and organize the room, I’m finding that I have space I didn’t think I had. More space means I can buy more stuff. Yay! And less time is spent searching for something. Onto my beading station! That’ll be next week’s post.
I’m joining the linky parties listed in my side bar.
