If you’ve seen my recent posts I’ve been working on dressing up my kitchen table. First I made the crocheted rope mat. Then I made the himmeli orb bowl fillers. Next on my list was a new table runner. This is the easiest and fastest of the projects.
The green slub side is the one I’m currently using. The male occupants of our home have stopped using the table as a dumping ground now that it has a table runner. It scared them off! Win-win for me.
First I cut 2 pieces of fabric and a piece of interfacing all the exact same size. I cut mine at 14″ x 2 yards. Adjust your pieces for your own table.
Then I pinned and sewed the interfacing to one of the back sides of fabric. Trim the interfacing close to the stitching.
Then pin and sew the second piece of fabric, wrong sides together on 3 sides, leaving one end open.
Turn the runner inside right, iron, and sew the open end closed. And that’s it!
My plan is to use this yellow/gold side for a fall tablescape.
Or, if I get tired of looking at the green side, I’ll just turn it over.
I wish all my projects were that fast and easy. I want to paint this table gray, and reupholster the chairs. Oh, oh, oh – one project leads to another.
Have a great rest of the week!
