Happy Friday! This was one of my first projects when we moved into this house. I don’t know what to call it. Maybe ‘Command Center’. Maybe ‘Command Shutter’. But most likely ‘Don’t Forget Center’. I dragged this old shutter from my prior home, and it fits just perfectly on this wall, as if it was made for it.
It’s placed where we pass it going to and from the garage. The only change I made lately was to add a couple of cork pieces. I had been using clothespins to hold notes, but the clothespins didn’t fit well in the slats. To give it a modern look, I taped off and applied a couple of coats of acrylic paint to them.
I attached them to the shutter with a couple of Command Strips.
We’d be lost without this. We put notes to ourselves and each other on it. I added a folder to the bottom to hold papers that we need for current issues that need to be dealt with.
I even added a little pocket for gift cards. We’ve been known to go out with intentions of using a gift card, only to realize when we get there, that we don’t have it with us.
It’s the ‘brain center’ of our home. With all the projects that are always going on, I need it.
I hope this was inspiring.
