Ready for a little garden tour? My first rose bloom of the year. This rose bush was here when we purchased the house, so I don’t know the name of it. It puts out the prettiest pink flowers.
Speedwell Veronica – Red Fox. It’s supposed to be a deep pink, but I think the plant must have had the wrong tag. It’s spread quite a bit in just one year, so I’m thinking about dividing a clump and starting a new plant in a bare spot of my garden.
Spiderwort. It only blooms in the morning. I’m definitely going to divide this one. It’s already crowding out other perennials.
My wild Weigela – Sonic Bloom Pink. In my previous experience with Weigela’s is that they bloom off and on all summer.
Dianthus Pinks – Ruby Sparkles has opened up.
And the other Dianthus, which was here when we moved in, is still looking gorgeous.
This is my first experience with strawberries, so I’m pretty excited about these babies. My fearless little puppy roams the gardens all day, and chases off birds. So they should stay safe.
I’m currently adding some landscaping to the bare side of my house. My back aches from sod busting. But it’s a good ache. I have a couple of shrubs in it so far. I’m still browsing garden centers trying to decide what else to plant. Planning and planting is the fun part.
Thanks for joining me. Happy gardening!
