Happy May! This little project was done last year before I was blogging, so I have no before pictures. These vintage pin cushions are all very small, the largest about 3 1/2 inches wide. They were in terrible condition when I bought them for next to nothing.
I tore the original stuffing out of all of them, and gave them a coat of gold spray paint. Then I cut out circles of poly-satin (different colors), stitched around the edges and pulled the thread to create pockets. I stuffed the pockets with fiberfill, and hot glued them into place.
This floral pin cushion was originally gold painted, but most of the paint was gone.
This pin cushion is actually ceramic. It was white with pink flowers, but many of the flowers are chipped and damaged.
They were absolutely ready for the trash bin. But now they make a cute display in my craft room.
Happy spray painting!
