Happy March! Spring is almost here and I got started yesterday with this wreath. It only took me one afternoon to make. I like those fast crafts. Lots of bang for your time.
Supplies: cardboard, duck tape, fabric scissors, a metal wreath form, and rolls of 6″ tulle.
First I cut 2 pieces of cardboard 3″ x 6″ and taped the bottom with duck tape.
Then I wrapped my rolls of tulle around and around and around the cardboard. Slip your scissors between the 2 pieces of cardboard to cut.
Cut yourself a batch of tulle squares in all the colors you want to use.
Squish a piece of tulle into a long, narrow piece, and slip the center up behind your first frame like this:
Then take the 2 ends over the frame and through the loop.
Pull the ends tight.
And lay flat.
Repeat with any combination of colors all around the frame.
Continue the same process for the other frames. Fluff. Once you’re done, you might want to go back and trim some scraggly pieces. Now you’re ready to add any embellishments you want. I chose these butterflies I found at Hobby Lobby.
Add a piece of ribbon or string to the back and hang.
In our neck of the woods tulips are starting to come up. We don’t usually see them for another month. I hope we don’t lose them this year. At least my wreath will be colorful.
