So after the tv was moved to hang above the fireplace, the painting completed, and the furniture rearranged, I had an empty wall space. I thought about purchasing a larger set of shelves to fill the space. Some pretty gold and glass ones. But I didn’t like the width of a set of new shelves. My old wood bookcase is only 10 inches deep. Anything new would be deeper and that meant less space to walk behind the love seat. And the thought of all the dusting involved with open glass shelves dampened my enthusiasm. Knowing me, they would only last about a year until I was tired of them.
I wanted to stay modern, but I already have a couple of abstracts nearby. I was browsing Pinterest and coming up with no ideas. I happened to notice the lastest copy of HGTV magazine that I have, and BAM, there was my answer right on the cover.
They used wallpaper, but I found the perfect fabric. I prefer mine because it has green in it, too.
I ordered a yard of the fabric, and hit the thrift stores looking for a large frame. After painting the frame with 4 coats of white, I mounted the fabric, and hung. I’m pretty sure that a designer would tell me that it’s not hanging in the right place, but I’m not sure just what that correct location would be. I’ll have to browse more magazines and the internet to get it figured out.
At least I don’t have a barren wall to look at anymore.
I’ve been busy sewing up a storm on new pillow covers for spring, too. That’s coming up next time.
