Over the weekend hubby mounted our tv over the fireplace. It wasn’t an easy process, though. We already had two tv’s using the wireless service, while the living room tv was hard wired. Our service only allows 2 tv’s to be wireless. That meant we had to hard wire one in a bedroom, to free up the wireless service for the living room tv. Step 1 got finished, and onto the next phase.
There was no outlet over the fireplace, nor one remotely close by. So I had to cough up some money for an electrician to come out and put one in. Then I wanted to add crown molding and trim above the mantel to give a nice custom look. It took my husband awhile to figure out how to end cap the molding, but then we had an issue with the arched ceiling that we forgot about. Extra trim and spackle did the job. Steps 2 and 3 were now done.
An easy step of painting the wall and trim white. Step 4 done.
Then came the mounting bracket. Dear hubby took that on by himself. All I had to do was help him lift the tv onto it. It’s a very light tv. And Step 5 was finally done. Then onto the fun step – decorate the mantel! I didn’t want it too busy, because it might interfere with the viewing.
Oh me, oh my. I can’t step foot into At Home without filling my cart up. I can’t tell what will look best so I buy several items, with the intention of returning what I don’t use. The truth is – I don’t return very much, so the coffee table vignette got an upgrade, too. I just love that copper elephant!
The painters are coming in two days to paint the room. That should really brighten this room up.
