I hope you had a very Merry Christmas! Just a week before the holiday we started a make over in the laundry room. The reason I wanted to work in this room was to rip out the pathetic wire shelf and put some decent storage in there. It had been painted a brownish color, which was too dark for the small room. I picked out Behr’s Campfire Ash for the walls. I’m totally in love with that color.
We had some wood trim in the garage that was leftover from who-knows-what projects. So I decided to trim out the window.
Although you can’t really tell much difference in this picture, it blew me away. Now I feel like the other windows in my house are naked. I can see now that more windows will be getting some trim treatment in the future. It gives it a custom look. But…the very best part is the new cabinets!
I was getting so excited when I saw the first cabinet going up, and over the top when the second cabinet went up.
A total of three cabinets! Yes! Yes! Yes! S-T-O-R-A-G-E!! Is anybody else with me? Am I the only one who swoons over storage?
I picked up these knobs at Hobby Lobby, 50% off. They timed their sale perfectly.
So here’s the final result as of now. I still need to get hampers, a drying rack put up, and some decorating. But the best part is those cabinets. A year and a half in this house, and I finally don’t have to put up with that wire shelf. Maybe if I wasn’t such a hoarder, I wouldn’t need them, but it is what it is. I plan on storing candlesticks, trays, vases, and anything else I can stuff in them.
I also spray painted this cute little planter a shiny copper for the window sill. I’m loving copper these days, too. It’s a metallic that I never used before in decorating. I wonder why it wasn’t popular before. It sure is pretty.
