While in the middle of my dining room updates, I made a few updates to my living room. See how I jump around from room to room? I get an idea, and drop what I’m currently working on. I get side tracked pretty easily.
I decided my couch needed more color, so 2 new pillows. I love the vibrant blue one.
But my favorite update is the fur cover on my stool. Ooh-la-la. It says ‘glam’ in a sultry voice. Or so I think. I got the fabric on sale, half off, from Joann’s Fabric. Long hair grizzly in white.
Since it’s dry clean only, I didn’t reupholster it to the stool. Instead I sewed a casing around the edges and inserted elastic. This way I can pull it off come spring time, and take it to the cleaners, then pack it away until fall. I’m pretty sure I’ll want something bright and light for the warm months.
I bought a full yard, and had just enough left over to make a FREE pillow cover. In my mind, it’s free. I don’t think my husband would see it that way. But hey, I didn’t think I would have any extra fabric when I finished with the stool. That makes it free, right?
And last, I found this unique decorative accent piece. Very contemporary. It was black, and black just didn’t cut it. So I spray painted it copper. I like it so much better copper. It stands out now.
I have one more dining room project to show. Then its going to be all about Christmas for awhile. Gosh, how did it come so fast?
