I created my first gallery wall! Woohoo. I had no idea what I was doing. I looked at a lot of examples on Pinterest. Did I ever mention that I LOVE Pinterest? How did I ever survive without it! 😮
I couldn’t figure out what the Gallery Wall rules were, so I just decided to use this cross stitch that I made a few years ago as my starting point. (I rarely cross stitch – like once a decade.)
I had a metal sign that read “Amazing Grace”. It was originally black, and I spray painted it gold. But between the wall color and the way the light shines in the house, you couldn’t make out the words. So I got out my Rub ‘n Buff, and wiped some on the surface of the letters. Whew, it worked.
Recently I got hold of some free 1980’s and 1990’s calendar books put out by the National Garden Club. They are filled with photos of gorgeous flower arrangements. I can’t imagine that flower arrangements ever go out of style, but what do I know? I picked the one on the right to frame.
Then I got some freebie butterfly prints off the internet, because of my butterfly garden. Notice that I used all white frames? I don’t know how to mix and match, and still have a result that looks good. ‘Play it safe’ is my game for now.
Then a gold urchin for fun and texture. Now I don’t know if this is how you’re supposed to put a gallery wall together. I’m not a designer, but it’s fun to pretend when I use words like ‘texture’.
Currently I’m using a free WordPress theme for my blog, because I just started blogging, and don’t have a clue about themes. Genesis seems to be popular with a lot of bloggers. Maybe I can get my husband to research it for me. 😉
I’m linking up to Inspiration Gallery Link Party at Design Dining Diapers.
